Planetarium
Bring your family, group or organization to Sturgeon City to watch a show in our mobile planetarium!
If you have never been in a mobile planetarium, it is an inflatable dome blown up inside our building. The floor is our concrete floor, so bring your beach chairs, blankets, pillow or whatever makes you comfortable. The best viewing position is laying on the floor and looking up. The show will take place all around you! Shows are listed below.

Outreach is also available with our mobile planetarium where we visit you! We can go to schools, churches, etc. These are $5 per person/student. Minimum number of participants required. Flat rates will be discussed based on location, time, etc. For more information on outreach with our planetariums, you can call our number or send us an email!
Two Small Pieces of Glass (25 minutes)
This show talks about Galileo’s invention of the telescope all the way to the Hubble telescope used today. *Suitable for all ages
Back to the Moon for Good (25 minutes)
Back to the moon talks about what it took to get the first human on the moon. It also touches on a space program that would put people back on the moon. *Suitable for all ages
Let it Snow (30 minutes)
“Let It Snow” is a 30 minute show in our mobile planetarium. “Let It Snow” is a festive Christmas sing-along with visual animations. All ages will enjoy singing along to some of the Christmas classics.
The planetarium does not include seating. Feel free to bring pillows, blankets, or chairs for comfort to view the show. The show can be viewed by laying down or sitting up.
$25 for up to 5 people. 5 people or more will be $5 per person. Age 2 and under are free. Tickets are non-refundable.

From Earth to the Universe (30 minutes)
Journey from the sun to all of the planets learning along the way. Viewers will learn about ancient Greek astronomers as well as the solar system. *Suitable for all ages
One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure (27 minutes)
One World, One Sky follows Sesame Street’s Big Bird and Elmo as they explore the night sky with Hu Hu Zhu, a new friend from China. Together, they take an imaginary trip from Sesame Street to the moon, where they discover how different it is from Earth.
